LANSING, Mi (Great Lakes News) – Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer may be accepting more responsibilities soon.
President-elect Joe Biden is nominating Gov. Whitmer to serve as a vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee. The position would allow Whitmer to raise her profile nationally, despite Michigan still being locked down due to the coronavirus and complaints that there is no real plan to reopen.

In May, Whitmer said she backed out of being considered for Biden’s vice president because she wanted to focus 100% of her time on being Michigan’s governor.
